Threads that outlive
the parts around them.
When soft metal or repeated service destroys a thread, we don't just repair it — we make it stronger than the original: inserts and bushings that survive what direct tapping cannot.
Repair, convert, protect
Wire-thread inserts create internal threads with higher strength and wear resistance than direct tapping into the base material. Threaded bushings repair stripped holes, convert metric to inch or change thread standards — and give aluminum and magnesium parts a reusable, maintenance-friendly thread point.
- Wire inserts from high-strength stainless wire
- Repair, size conversion & thread-standard change in soft metals
- Repeat disassembly without damaging the base material
- Anti-loosening versions with friction coatings for vibration
Which insert for which job
| Type | Function | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Wire-thread insert | Free-running or locking internal thread | Aluminum, magnesium, plastics — strength & wear |
| Threaded bushing (nest) | Repair & thread-standard conversion | Damaged soft-metal holes, M4 – M20 |
| Insert with coating | Anti-loosening under vibration | Motors, machinery, aerospace-adjacent joints |
Materials span high-strength stainless wire, alloy and carbon steels with zinc, zinc-nickel and dry-film lubricant finishes — selected to match the base material and service environment.
Three jobs, one product family
Production-line repair
Stripped threads in die-cast housings repaired on the line instead of scrapping castings worth many times the insert.
Standard conversion
Metric ↔ inch conversions and thread-size changes without redesigning or replacing the component.
Soft-metal protection
Giving aluminum & magnesium parts reusable, maintenance-friendly threads designed for service life.
Scrapping a casting over one stripped hole is pure waste. If you repair more than a handful of threads a month, we'll spec the insert, tooling and installation method to make the fix permanent.

View familyThread insert questions we hear most
A wire insert adds a tough, wear-resistant internal thread with minimal hole enlargement — ideal where you keep the same bolt size. A threaded bushing (nest) is the choice for bigger repairs, size changes or metric↔inch conversion, because it replaces the thread envelope entirely.
In soft materials, usually yes. A stainless wire insert distributes load across more threads and provides a harder wearing surface than aluminum or magnesium can offer, so the repaired point often outlasts the original — especially under repeated assembly and disassembly.
We support hand and automated installation with qualified tooling, and can recommend the right taps, drivers and setting parameters for your line. For high-volume new builds we also design inserts that install at assembly speed.
