Permanent threads in thin sheet,
set in one press.
Press-in and self-clinching insert screws form a strong, fixed internally threaded stud in sheet metal and plastic — no weld, no nut, no back-out. Installed in seconds with a standard press, they replace tapped holes in thin or brittle material.
A thread that stays where you put it
Insert screws are forced into a pre-punched hole so that the clinch or knurl section locks into the parent material. The result is a permanent, load-bearing threaded stud that cannot spin or fall out — ideal where tapping thin sheet, castings or engineering plastics would strip on the first assembly cycle.
- Self-clinching and press-in designs for steel, aluminum and soft plastics
- M2–M10 standard; custom thread forms and head geometry on request
- Heat-treated steel (10B21) for high push-out and torque-out
- A2-70 stainless for corrosion and outdoor service
- Zinc-nickel plating for 96-hour neutral salt spray
Materials, surfaces & installation data
Push-out and torque-out values below are representative for each thread size on the standard parent material; actual values depend on sheet hardness and hole diameter and are confirmed by the installation drawing.
Material & surface options
| Material | Class | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 10B21 steel | Heat-treated | High push-out / torque-out in steel and aluminum sheet |
| A2-70 stainless | Corrosion resistant | Outdoor, medical, food and corrosive environments |
| Zinc-plated | General protection | Indoor enclosures, 48 h salt spray |
| Zinc-nickel | High protection | 96 h neutral salt spray; outdoor and under-hood use |
Size range & performance
| Parameter | Typical value | Note |
|---|---|---|

| Parent sheet | 0.5 – 6.0 mm | Al, steel or engineering plastic |
| Push-out strength | 2.5 – 8.0 kN | By thread size |
| Torque-out | 1.2 – 18 N·m | By thread size |
| Installation | Parallel press, ≤ 5 s | Standard bench or auto-press |
| Temperature range | -55 °C to 120 °C | Stable in plastic assemblies |
Thin sheet, soft plastic, no second access
- Sheet-metal enclosures and racks where tapping 1 mm wall is impossible
- Electronic chassis and PCBs requiring a fixed stand-off thread
- Automotive and EV interior panels fixed from one side only
- Castings and housings where weld studs would distort the surface
Insert screws remove the need for welded nuts, clinch-nut housings and tapped holes in soft material — fewer parts, no secondary weld, and a thread that survives repeated service.

Standard press-in inserts are designed for 0.5–6.0 mm of parent material, with a recommended minimum hardness. Below the recommended minimum thickness the clinch groove may not fully lock, so we specify the correct series and hole diameter for your exact sheet grade before sampling.
Yes — we supply plastic-grade press-in studs and heat/ultrasonic-installed inserts for engineering thermoplastics such as PBT, PA66, PPS and PC. The knurl geometry and installation method differ from metal clinch inserts, so tell us the resin at RFQ stage.
Values are batch-tested on the parent sheet you specify. We report push-out (axial load to dislodge) and torque-out (torque to spin) against the drawing, and we supply a recommended hole diameter and installation force so the assembly press is set correctly.
