Liquid cooling left the supercomputer lab when UQD (Universal Quick Disconnect) standards made connections swap-friendly across vendors. The fasteners around those fittings complete the sealing story.
Bottom line: for most Sealing Series applications the decision comes down to load, environment and assembly method — the Sealing Series guide walks through the selection.
UQD specifies standardized panel-mount fittings with O-ring sealing and push-to-connect lockings — racks, manifolds and hoses from different suppliers meet interchangeably. The fitting mounts to plates and manifolds with screws; those joints are wet-side-adjacent and cannot tolerate leaks.
Cooling loops are serviced quarterly: captive hardware on access panels, standardized drives, and threads in aluminum manifolds protected by inserts for repeat opening. Topprecision supports liquid-cooling OEMs with sealing screws, inserts and locking hardware specified for UQD-era racks — hardware that treats every joint as if the loop depends on it, because it does.
| Type | Seal mechanism | IP rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| O-ring under-head screw | Compressed O-ring seal | IP67/IP68 | Outdoor enclosures, 5G cabinets |
| Nylon pellet sealing screw | Nylon compresses into thread gap | IP65 | Indoor equipment, light sealing |
| Sealing plug (threaded) | O-ring + hex socket | IP68 | Die-casting vent holes, hydraulic |
| Gasket-faced screw | Bonded sealing washer | IP65 | Automotive, general outdoor |
Toprecision supplies O-ring sealing screws, nylon-pellet sealing screws, sealing plugs and gasket-faced screws in stainless 304/316 for IP65–IP68 applications. Send the enclosure material and IP rating — we will recommend the sealing type and supply salt-spray test results. Request sealing fastener support.
UQD quick-disconnect fittings in EV battery cooling systems must survive 500 psi pressure cycles and 10-year service. Choose brass or stainless fittings with EPDM seals — silicone degrades in coolant. The coupling must have a flush-face design to prevent coolant spillage during disconnect. Test for burst pressure at 4× working pressure before production release.
